Taweret Egyptian goddess ritual offering candle
This offering candle is created for the Egyptian goddess of protecting mothers and children. Juniper berries, rose petals, rose quartz, amazonite and a dagger charm are the adornments for this gift to Taweret. The candle's scent is cedar & juniper. It comes in a 3" x 2", 8 oz. tin.*
In ancient Egypt, pregnancy, birth and the time following were medically dangerous days for both mother and child. Because up to 20% of newborns didn't make it to their first birthday, pregnant and nursing women used amulets of Taweret to protect themselves and their babies from evil spirits. The goddess is fearsome in appearance, combining attributes of the hippopotamus, crocodile, and lion - all the better to scare off evil entities who may harm the mother and child. Taweret sometimes also carried a knife to help her ward off evil. Her husband is Bes and, they prefer to be honored together.

- Do not touch the tin or replace the lid until it has cooled
- Avoid Drafty Areas
- Do not burn near other heat sources
- Burn for no more than 4-hours at a time
- Keep wax pool free of debris
- Keep burning candles away from children & pets
- Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4"
